Jena Abaria, MA, LPC Intern
Every person experiences pain in life- stress, loss, addiction, isolation, betrayal, confusion - and must decide how to respond and relate to this pain. At times we are successful at doing this on our own, and other times we need a little (or maybe a lot of) help.
Counseling can be one of the best places to receive this kind of help. It is a unique relationship that requires courage and vulnerability, and offers the chance for insight and true growth. As your counselor, I will walk with you as you look at your pain and process its impact in your life. I will help you learn to accept it as an important part of your story, and develop strategies for coping when things get tough. I will encourage and support you as you develop new dreams and goals. And we will do all of this at your pace. Together we will seek healing and growth in order to enable you to live life in a way that aligns with your values and beliefs.
I am a Registered LPC Intern with the State of Oregon, and am supervised by Connie Baker, MA, LPC. I obtained my MA in Counseling from Western Seminary in 2014 and have been providing pastoral counsel through a local non-profit for the past 3 years. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults and couples from all walks of life, and would love to meet you. I currently live in Portland with my husband of 6 years, our daughter, and our rescue dog. I absolutely love the Northwest rain, being able to escape to the coast or hike in the Gorge and eating good food with friends.
