Biography
Hi, I’m Cari Welch and my desire is to walk alongside those that are hurting and hopeless; to provide a safe place to find healing and hope. Each of us were created to live a life of joy, freedom, and wholeness; in mind, body, and spirit. I look forward to journeying alongside you as together, we discover meaning, purpose, and peace through the difficulties life brings.
I have had the privilege of loving and serving people alongside my pastor husband of 23 years in various church settings. Throughout these years I have been a lay-counselor covering a wide range of life challenges such as marriage and family issues , depression, anxiety, grief and loss, as well as infertility, miscarriage, parenting, and the challenges of adolescence. These many years of experience culminated in pursuing a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary. During my years of study, I interned at A New Day as well as at The Union Gospel Mission LifeChange Program for Men, Women, and Children. Both of these internships allowed me the privilege of walking alongside people from children to the elderly, dealing with a variety of hurts, from chronic pain to grief and loss, to drug addiction and recovery, as well as relationship issues including LGBTQ concerns.
Areas of current focus include, but are not limited to:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Oregon. As a native Portlander who has also lived in Washington and Alaska, there is nothing like the PNW! I love spending time with my husband, three teenagers, and two golden retrievers, especially if it’s outdoors in our garden, at the beach, around the fire pit, riding bikes, or floating on the river.
