Biography
Feelings, thoughts and actions... responses and reactions...what needs to be done or said now, what can wait, or what hurts so much that we'd rather not deal with it; persons cycle through these internal and external realities hour by hour, day after day. We want to act wisely, think mindfully, living one moment at a time, to integrate our thoughts and feelings with helpful life-giving actions - we need care for our souls. Often, one of the best ways to sort through these concerns is to reach out for help, ask for support, and consider the potential of a change-focused relationship in counseling. This is why I would ask you to consider giving me the opportunity to help you in a compassionate, confidential, and challenging soul-care environment at A New Day.
I am a 2007 graduate of Western Seminary with an MA in Counseling, with experience in private practice therapy for individuals, couples, and families, along with more recent focus in crisis intervention counseling for those struggling with depression, anxiety, psychosis, isolation, grief, and use of self-medicating substances.
My professional strengths include helping others in light of
- relational conflict
- life changes that come with age, vocation, loss, and relationships
- support for victims of trauma
- being a military veteran, actively serving, or transitioning to civilian life
- various experiences of spiritual abuse
- continuing needs for pastoral care or relational mediation
- the challenges of adolescence, or of parenting adolescents
Enjoyment of the Pacific coast, as well as the wooded trails of Oregon and Washington, are high on my list of needed refreshment. I value times spent with family and close friends, and have yet to meet a golf course anywhere that I did not enjoy. I would be appreciate the privilege of talking with you on the phone for a no-cost brief assessment for you to determine if I can be of help to you.
