Biography

I am excited be part of the A New Day team. I have been a licensed counselor for over 15 years journeying with women, men, kids and families as they navigate the ups and downs, twists and turns of life. I began my career serving college women as they processed childhood dynamics and traumas, finding healing, wholeness, and tools for living as free, whole adults living out their design. I spent 8 years living in Beijing, China, first working with youth from around the world and then serving as counselor for people of all ages and many cultures, and diverse faith backgrounds. I love the beauty of life stories with the varied colors of experiences and cultural influences. Being witness to both the joy and pain of a person’s experience and the public victories and sometimes hidden tragedies that have brought them to this place is a sacred privilege.

In this context, my work has often involved multicultural relationships and families, cultural identity issues, and making healthy transitions. As a Christian, I have experienced God’s presence and hope in the darkest times, and experienced joy and purpose in living out His design in my life. I’m passionate about seeing people thrive and providing safe, authentic space to heal and wrestle through questions and hard times. I love getting out in nature to hike, run, or walk with my dog, Penny and any time with good friends- new or old- sharing adventures or deep conversation.
